From nothing to everything and back again: has modern risk management failed?

Tuesday 29th November, 2016: 6pm – 8pm

The importance of risk management within organisations is undisputed, with the role of Chief Risk Officer now firmly embedded at senior management and board level. But how effectively do risk management functions influence organisations? Are risk management structures and governance arrangements working? What lessons do we still have to learn?

Professor Mike Power, LSE, will lead a discussion on organisational risk management, inspired by his new volume, ‘Riskwork’, published by Oxford University Press this autumn. Joining him on the panel will be Jonathan Hayward, founder partner of Independent Audit Limited and a leading expert in the review of boards and committees with specific expertise in risk, audit and control and Fabrice Brossart, AIG Europe Chief Risk Officer and Head of country risk operations.
