FRC Corporate Governance Code changes: what are the implications for Irish Boards

A discussion for company secretaries

Tuesday, 24 September | 8.00-9.30am BST with breakfast

Since the FRC issued its revisions that will apply from the 2026 reporting year, UK boards have been considering the implications and what they need to do to prepare. Irish Boards and Audit & Risk Committees will be tackling this too not long after. So what will they need to do?

While regulated financial institutions might already have many of the requirements in place, others will have many of the requirements in place, others will have more to address. The key here will be to make sure that any changes are made simultaneously improve business performance.

This round table discussion will be an opportunity to explore what boards in Ireland might helpfully learn from the experience and developing thinking of UK Boards.

Richard Sheath will lead a discussion of key areas, including:

  • Assessing the effectiveness of the risk management framework
  • Determining material control effectiveness
  • Identifying and managing emerging risks.

As always, there will be opportunities to share insights and learn from each other’s experiences, as well as some time for networking.
