A Focus on Your Business
We’re not here to give you a pass/fail grade. Our goal is to help your Board keep learning about how it can work more effectively, efficiently and enjoyably.
Our depth of expertise and services across boards of many types is strengthened further by our specialist expertise in the work of board committees – especially around risk and audit. All adding up to practical insight to help your Board function properly.
We offer three types of board evaluations: interview-based evaluations, questionnaires with external-facilitation, and in-house board evaluations.
Interviews: The Best Way to Understand Your Board
Actionable board assessments conducted by our independent specialists are a powerful way to ensure that your Board is working well. We offer an end-to-end solution through board paper review, in-depth discussions and meeting observation.
Our reviews include practical suggestions for improvement, which are written in plain English, and a flexible approach ensures that our report addresses specific focus areas.
Carefully Developed, Externally-Facilitated Questionnaires
Our Thinking Board® questionnaires are completed by each board member as a self-assessment; we then analyse the results and report back to the Board.
From the results of the 30-minute questionnaire, we pull together observations, highlight issues and use our extensive experience to summarise findings and draw out themes.
The report is discussed in draft with the Chairman, and then in full with the Board to consider our suggestions and help them determine the next steps.
Self-Assessment Questionnaires That Put You in the Driving Seat
We offer self-assessment questionnaires to deliver continuous improvement and track your Board’s performance. This is when your review is internal. It may be wide-ranging – or simply be tracking progress on specific steps from your last review.
We offer full access to our question banks so you can design the perfect questionnaire for your company’s Board. We also offer training and support where needed. And you can use the platform for your follow-up questions.
Use the Thinking Board® questionnaires for your in-house board evaluations and produce your own automated reports. View issues that are identified by the reports and work with the Board to agree on areas for improvement, action and follow-up.
